By boat

From the Greek mainland, ferries and highspeed catamaran services run daily from Piraeus, Rafina and Lavrio, especially during the high season.

There are a lot of travel agencies in the Port areas, however if you are travelling during high season, we would suggest you book your tickets well in advance, as you may find yourself in the difficult position of finding no available tickets to travel.

There are 3 types of ferries that can take you to Naxos:

• The “normal” ferry, which is the cheapest, but also the slowest option, which will take you to Naxos in around 6-7 hours.

• The Blue-Star ferries, with which your trip will last around 5 and a half hours.

• The “fast” option, called High-Speed ferries, which will bring you in Naxos in about 3.5 - 4 hours, but are -as expected- the most expensive option.

The shipping companies which sail for Naxos (via Paros) include:

Hellenic Seaways, Blue Star Ferries, NEL Lines, Aegean Speed Lines and Anek Lines.

If you are going to the port straight from the airport you might want to learn about the Bus and Coach services here. In this case, keep in mind that you can departure from Rafina or Lavrio ports, which are closer to the Athens International Airport and not as crowded as Piraeus port.
